2011 Exam Success

Heworth Grange students enjoyed an excellent set of exam results in both GCSE and A-Level this year.

Our overall GCSE result for students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C was 89% – an improvement of 11% on 2010. Students achieving 5 or more GCSEs including Maths and English rose 7% from last year to 58% in 2011.

Some notable performances included Anthony Wheeler and Abbie Walker, who each attained an A in every GCSE – with almost all of them at A*.

At A Level our students achieved a superb pass rate of 97%, up 4% on 2010. Our average points score per student was 717 and our average point score per entry was 205 – both figures a significant improvement on 2010.

Ellie found out that morning that she had been accepted onto her chosen degree course by Cambridge University – our first student to go there in over 20 years.

We would like to pass on our congratulations to each and every one of our students who worked so hard to achieve this remarkable level of success. Equally though I am sure that the students themselves would join me in thanking their families and teachers who have supported them so magnificently throughout.[/blockquote] [nggallery id=28]
