Get Geordie

A play with traditional music, specially written to be performed by Heworth Grange School and Community Theatre, featuring pupils past and present, teachers and friends of the school. Geordie Ridley offends the Butterfield gang by writing a less than flattering song about their cousin, Cushie. They are out for Ridley’s blood and he decides to hide himself away in the crowds at the Blaydon Races. Ridley is such a showman, however, that the more he tries to hide, the more obvious he becomes. Based upon the scenes and the characters in the Picture at the Shipley and a host of others from Geordie songs. Following a successful performance at Gateshead Old Town Hall, Get Geordie will be staged at Heworth on Wednesday 13th June. Tickets are available from Mrs Scantlebury ( )
