Co-Curriculum
Alongside a wide range of extra-curricular activities open to all students, ranging from our PE department’s daily programme of team events and coaching, daily breakfast clubs as well as opportunities to participate in Expressive and Performing arts events; Heworth has an ambitious co-curricular programme for Key Stage 3 students, running between 2.45 and 3.30 pm every Wednesday and Thursday.
The purpose of the co-curricular programme is to provide enrichment activities for all our students outside the main curriculum of the school, creating the opportunity for all students to maximise their Cultural capital opportunities. At Heworth, we believe that our co-curricular programme enables our students to broaden their horizons, raise their aspirations, and develop their character and resilience. It offers all students the chance to work and co-operate with others in a relaxed and fun environment, developing their social skills and enhancing their sense of well-being.
