Heworth Grange students take part in UKMT Senior Maths Challenge.
On the 7th November A-level Maths students took part in the annual UKMT Senior Maths Challenge. This is a 90 minute paper with 25 multiple choice questions. The questions are challenging and require creative use of maths to solve correctly. Across the world about 100,000 students take part every year.
Gold certificates are awarded to the top 10% of scores. Silver to the next 20%, and Bronze to the next 30%.
We had an excellent set of results with 14 students receiving certificates. The best in school certificate went to William Curtis (Year 13) who achieved a Silver certificate. Ryan Grimshaw achieved the best score in Year 12 and received a bronze certificate.
Well done to everyone who took part.
